Basketball Air Ball & Self Rebound: Rule & Statisics
Balón de Aire y Recupero: Regla del Baloncesto & Estadísticas

• Statistical Tracking with Two Ways
• Registro Estadístico con Dos Caminos

( para Traducción al Español= Ver a Continuación )

eBA Basketball Statistical Tracking=
For the basketball statistical tracking of this play we have to ways: the traditional statistician will give  to the player a FGA, and OR and a FGM.

On the second way, the game analyst may allow himself to register only the FGM in the Dunk category and ignore the first part of the play ("since the backboard is equipment located in the offensive half court") if he feels it a was "show-time play" and not a shooting attempt, and wants to register the "real" possessions number.

Basketball Air Ball & Self Rebound: Rule & Statisics
Balón de Aire y Recupero: Regla del Baloncesto & Estadísticas

• Balón contra el Tablero, Rebote y Mate
• Ball against the Backboard, Reb  & Dunk

( English Translation= See Below )

Hypothetical case but possible: A player intercepts an opponent pass and dribbles forward in a fast break. Near the free-throw line, the player stops legally and ends his dribble. He throws the ball against the backboard and follows the throw. While airborne, he rebounds the ball off the backboard and dunks.
It's legal ?

Which is the statistical tracking rule of ALL this player play ?

Basketball Air Ball & Self Rebound: Rule & Statisics
Balón de Aire y Recupero: Regla del Baloncesto & Estadísticas

• Balón de Aire & Recupero: Jugada Legal
• Air Ball & Self Rebound as a Legal Play

( for English Translation= See Below )

It is legal in all leagues except the NBA, so long as it was a legitimate attempt for goal in the eyes of the referees.

The NBA has a special exception written into the rules for this case, eliminating the need for officials to judge if it was a pass or a shot.

Basketball Air Ball & Self Rebound: Rule & Statisics

• Player catches the ball of his own airball

( for English Translation= See Below )

A1 takes a shot and the ball does not touch the rim ("air ball"). Player A1 runs over before anyone else and catches the ball. It is legal ? If no: Forced or Unforced Turnover ?
