La primera manera es participando en la Clínica eBA de las Estadísticas del Baloncesto de donde le traigo la respuesta para usted.

Otra forma es la de computar porcentajes. Aunque solamente porcentajes pueden llevar a un error, sin embargo. Por ejemplo, dos jugadores de baloncesto con idéntico porcentaje de lanzamientos de campo de 66.70% pueden tener muy diferentes significados. Uno pudo haber convertido 44 lanzamientos de  66 intentos mientras que el otro hizo 8 de 12 intentos.

Desde el momento en que el primer jugador ha realizado un número significativamente mayor de intentos, su porcentaje es con seguridad muy estable; sin embargo, el segundo jugador ha hecho relativamente pocos intentos entonces su porcentaje puede fluctuar más a pesar de un número equivalente en unos próximos pocos partidos.

Por ejemplo, si ambos jugadores convierten 2 lanzamientos de los próximos 5 intentos desde el campo, sus promedios serían del 64.80% y 58.80% respectivamente.

Another way is to compute percentages. Percentages alone can be misinforming, however. For example, two basketball players with the same field goal percentages of .667 can have very different information. One could have made 44 field goals out of 66 attempts while the other has made 8 out of 12 attempts.

Since the first player has made a reasonably large number of field goal attempts, his percentage is probably to be very firm and equilibrating; however, the second player has made relatively few attempts so his percentage might be unstable more despite equivalent play over the next few games.

For example, if both players make 2 of the next 5 field goal attempts, their averages would be .648 and .588 respectively.

This is why box scores usually list both the FG-FGA ratio and the percentage after each players' names.

This practice gives a more accurate statistical background of the basketball players' performances.
