Por varias temporadas ya, el Sistema eBA de Análisis de las Estadísticas del Baloncesto, lleva estadísticas sobre el porcentaje de probabilidad de conversión después de cada pase adicional en ataque, pero aún la cantidad de datos es insuficiente como para exponer la investigación.

Por el momento, podemos afirmar que las defensas usualmente abandonan una oportunidad de conversión después de tres pases, pero esto aun está en estudio.

Un esbozo de la temática está desarrollada en la exposición en el Curso de Estadísticas de eBA EN-LINEA sobre "Análisis de las Posesiones en Baloncesto[/color]".

Los primeros resultados de esta investigación del Prof. Roberto Azar están incluidos en la actual  Clínica Anual de Estadísticas del Baloncesto en eBA EN-LINEA cuyo próximo encuentro es  el próximo Sábado 12 de Junio, 2010, 08:00 y/o 21:00 UTC !

From some seasons ago, the eBA Basketball Statistics Analysis System keep statistics on the percentage chance of scoring following each additional pass on offense, but the amount of data is insufficient to expose the research.

By this moment, we can affirm that the defenses usually give up a scoring opportunity after three passes, but this is yet under study.

An outline of this topic is developed in the exposition in the eBA ONLINE Statistics Course about "Basketball Possessions Analysis".

The first results of this research from the Prof. Roberto Azar are included in the current  Basketball Statistics Register Annual Clinic in eBA ONLINE which next meeting will be next Saturday 12, June 2010, 08:00 and/or 21:00 GMT !

eBA System Pass & Assist Statistics, Rating and Analysis

Have the same analysis value a close assist to a dunk than an assist for an open three pointer ? How we can get an idea of how good our players are at passing the ball which leads to a score ?

An opening statements to begin, when working with databases which are based on how often players pass the ball, you must take into account that this data doesn't qualify how good the passes are.

According to our database the percentage of passes that ended up in assists oscillates between ranges of 16.50% and 17.50% from the total number of passes, being the big men at the head of the list, what make me doubt about the value of this data.

In the eBA Basketball Statistics Creative Analysis System we calculate the player's number of passes based on his assists and not vice versa. We have not players with higher percentages - than the referred above - of assists per pass in our archives, and the differences are simply a factor of his team's game pace.

Meanwhile I prepare the second part of this article, look at this 'Pass Rating' applied by our eBA System, which recompense the passer of a close assist and a dunk assist, because I think that passes were the principal supply to the basket:

Pass Rating = ( 3pt AST + 2pt Jump AST + ( 2 * Close AST )+ ( 4 * dunk AST ) - ( 2 * pass TO ) ) / ( minutes played / 40 or 48 )

Estadísticas, Evaluación y Análisis del Pase
y las Asistencias conforme al Sistema eBA

Tiene el mismo valor de análisis una asistencia de cerca para un mate que una asistencia para un triple abierto ? Cómo podemos obtener una idea de cuan buenos son nuestros jugadores en concretar pases que conducen a una canasta ?

Una formulación para comenzar, cuando se trabaja con bases de datos que están basadas en cuan a menudo un jugador pasa el balón, Usted debe tener en cuenta que esos datos no califican cuan buenos esos pases son.

Conforme a nuestra base de datos el porcentaje de pases que finalizan en asistencias oscila entre rangos del 16.50% y el 17.50% del número total de pases, estando los jugadores altos en el tope de esta lista, lo que me hace dudar sobre el valor de estos datos.

En el Sistema eBA de Análisis Creativo de las Estadísticas del Básquetbol nosotros calculamos el número de pases de un jugador basados en sus asistencias y no vice versa. No tenemos jugadores con más altos porcentajes - que los mencionados arriba - de asistencias por pase en nuestros archivos, y las discrepancias son simplemente un factor referido al ritmo de juego del equipo.

Mientras preparo la segunda parte de este artículo, se puede ver aquí esta 'Evaluación del Pase' aplicado por nuestro Sistema eBA, el cual recompensa al pasador de una asistencia de cerca y de una asistencia a un mate, porque yo pienso que esos pases fueron el principal contribuyente de la canasta conseguida:

Evaluación del Pase = (AST 3pt + AST 2pt Jump + (2*AST de Cerca)+ (4*AST a un Mate) - (2* BP Pase) ) / (minutos jugados / 40 o 48)

Conforme al Sistema eBA de Análisis de las Estadísticas del Baloncesto registramos lo siguiente:

En la situación 1) tenemos dos casos:
a) cuando no existiera posibilidad de que el balón entrase por encima y la deflexión causa que la canasta sea convertida, entonces se registrarán dos puntos.
b) cuando el balón es pasado en dirección al aro con la posibilidad de que entre en el aro por encima y la deflexión no tiene influencia, entonces un triple será registrado.
En la situación 2) el balón permanece vivo.

According to the eBA Basketball Statistics Analysis System we register as follows:

In the situation 1) we have two cases:
a) when there is no possibility of the ball entering the basket from above and the deflection causes the goal to be successful, then we'll register a two-points goal.
b) when the ball is passed in the direction of the basket with the possibility of entering the basket from above and the deflection does not influence its fly, then a three-point goal shall be registered.
In the situation 2) the ball shall remain live.

En un caso de un balón pasado desde detrás de la línea de los tres puntos entra en el aro por arriba y lo atraviesa tenemos tres puntos y registro de un triple. Pero, que ocurriría y cuál sería el registro estadístico si:
1) el balón es deflexionado por un defensor y entra al aro por arriba y lo atraviesa;
2) el balón golpea el costado del aro o el brazo del aro ?
