Hace doce años esta noche, un 24 de Diciembre de 1998, 20:00 UTC, un gran botón precario en una vieja Computadora 386 fue presionado y el sitio web eBA-Stats.com se puso en línea por vez primera.

Este sitio web fue el primer componente del actual Grupo eBA de Sitios de Análisis Creativo de las Estadísticas del Baloncesto de sitios web y desde el mismo comienzo recibimos cientos de visitas, el sitio hoy en día recibe casi 20 millones de hits por año...

Como todos los años, en un nuevo aniversario de nuestro Grupo eBA de Sitios de Análisis Creativo de las Estadísticas del Baloncesto, hoy nosotros soplamos nuestra 12ma. vela..., es un buen momento para mirar atrás y analizar la evolución de la Web y cómo nuestros sitios han avanzado...
      
Pero este es un aniversario diferente: nosotros abrimos hoy las puertas de la Clínica eBA PERMANENTE ( 24x7x365 ) de las Estadísticas del Baloncesto e invitamos a autores, editores, visitantes y lectores a unirse al Equipo eBA  para celebrar nuestro 12mo. Aniversario.

El Grupo eBA Stats cumple hoy 12 años. Lo cual, en términos humanos, significa que ya casi somos adolescentes !

En muchos aspectos, el Grupo eBA Stats es hoy un sitio diferente a las "10 páginas del volumen 1 edición 1" que apareciera en Diciembre de 1998.

Sin embargo, cuando uno lee el primer artículo-editorial (Diciembre 1998) y el último (Diciembre 2010) del Editor Fundador Prof. Roberto Azar, no queda ninguna duda de que deberían ser una prueba del correcto camino que hemos tomado y recorrido y de cual ha sido su dimensión.

Los pasados 3 años han habido remarcables cambios en el Grupo eBA Stats, tanto sea en la Sección Inglés como la de Lenguaje Español, y ahora nosotros contamos con un Equipo eBA de 24 Miembros en 11 diferentes países; conjuntamente con 1264 Editores y 699 Publicadores de todo el el mundo.

Los nuevos Editores MPR (Miembros Plenos Registrados) que van siendo admitidos cada semana traen con ellos un refrescante brío de conocimientos especializados y experiencia al Grupo eBA de Sitios Web de las Estadísticas del Baloncesto !

Podemos apostar a que los primeros fundadores y autores de eBA-Stats.com no supieron cuan profunda e importante llegaría a ser  su creación habiendo transcurrido tan solo 12 años...

Twelve years ago this evening, on 24 December 1998, 20:00 GMT, a really scary big button in an old 386 Computer was pressed and the eBA-Stats.com Website went online for the first time.

This Website was the first component of the actual Basketball Statistical Creative Analysis eBA Stats Group and from a start of hits numbered in the thousands, the site now gets almost 20 million hits a year.

As always, an anniversary of our Basketball Statistical Creative Analysis eBA Stats Group, today we blow the 12th. candle..., is a   good time to look back on the evolution of the Web and how our sites advanced...

But it's a different website's anniversary: we open today the eBA PERMANENT ( 24x7x365 ) Basketball Statistics Clinic and we invite our authors, reviewers, visitors and readers to join the eBA Team to celebrate with us our 12th anniversary. eBA Stats Group turns 12 today.  

Which, in human terms, means we are almost teenager !

In many respects, eBA Stats Group is a different website today from the "10-page volume 1 issue 1" that appeared in December of 1998.

However, when one reads the first (December 1998) and last (December 2010) editorial-articles of Founding Editor Prof. Roberto Azar, there is any doubt about why there should be an evidence of the right road we have well-traveled and what a ride it's been.

The past 3 years have seen remarkable changes in the eBA Stats Group, both English and Spanish sections, and we now have 24 eBA Team Members in 11 different countries; together with 1264 Editors and 699 Publishers all over the world.

  The new RFM (Registered Full Members) Editors being admitted each week bring a wealth of expertise and experience to the eBA Group of Basketball Statistics Websites !.

We can bet the first founders and authors of eBA-Stats.com didn't know how huge and important their creation would have become in just 12 years...

As we blow out 12 candles on the eBA-Stats cake, we go on counting new pages (29.731 today, 29.732...), articles, documents and sites:

We really do apologize for today´s outrage inconveniences, but there was nothing we could do !

The Servint.com VPS host server where the eBA Stats Group is residing on once again encountered a catastrophic failure  earlier today without any explanation nor support from our hosting server...

Honestly, it was not our fault, but our visitors and registered members were updated every minute through our Facebook and Twitter sites.

We know you know that this is not the first time this happens with this Hosting Server Servint.com, and  we sincerely hope to resolve this issue... but after 12 year to be online and 10 different hosting servers, we are going to be convinced that there is no ANY PERFECT AND RELIABLE HOSTING SERVER... at least in THIS world !

Nosotros realmente nos disculpamos por los inconvenientes causados por la caída de nuestros sitios en el día de hoy, pero no hubo nada que pudimos hacer para evitarlo !

El Grupo eBA Stats Celebra 10 Años en la Web

Nuestro primer año en la Web...
Hace diez años esta noche, un 24 de Diciembre de 1998, 20:00 UTC, presioné un gran botón precario en una vieja Computadora 386 y el sitio web eBA-Stats.com se puso en línea por vez primera. Esta sitio fue el primero del actual Grupo eBA Stats de sitios web y desde el mismo comienzo recibimos cientos de visitas, el sitio hoy en día recibe casi 10 millones de hits por año...

El segundo cumpleaños...
Durante 1999, el sitio eBA-stats.com, creados por pasión al Baloncesto en general y a las Estadísticas en particular, dio sus primeros pasos en el World Wide Web con el lanzamiento de los foros, las clínicas y las secciones de los directorios. ......

Nuestra tercera vela...
Parece increíble imaginar como era la Web cuando iniciamos nuestro sitio. Yahoo había comenzado allá por 1994. Google aparece justamente con nosotros. Nadie parecía preocupado por el PageRank por entonces,  pero nosotros estuvimos muy complacidos de aparecer enlistados desde el primer momento en todos los Directorios de la Internet. Netscape 1.0 había aparecido en Diciembre 1994, y el Internet Explorer apareció por primera ves en 1995......

La cuarta celebración...
El sitio promovió un número de secciones exclusivas en línea: una tienda de baloncesto, un foro donde la gente del baloncesto podía postear preguntas y respuestas y discutir sobre el análisis de las estadísticas del baloncesto, y enlaces para lectores donde comentar casos de estudio y enviar sus comentarios a los editores.......

Durante los años siguientes en la Web... Aún cuando nuestra página Web original en geocities y xoom ( http://www.geocities.com/allstats/index.html ) - con la "famosa" pelota de básquetbol picando... - está probablemente perdida entre los vientos del tiempo, aquí hay una versión de nuestra página de los primeros años... nuestras disculpas por el diseño !

Gracias al Archivo Internet y reviviendo nuestros años formativos, he aquí como parecía nuestro único sitio en eBA Stats 2002 asimismo como eBA Stats 2004 también ! ......

Cuatro años atrás...
Mientras que la historia de eBA-Stats es una temática      bien cubierta a través del sitio, el impacto de la época del network, la cual coincidentemente comenzó en los mismos días en que nuestro sistema de análisis fue publicado, es aún hoy, ya en el 2008,  difícil de medir, pero es también algo para reflejar y celebrar en paralelo con el aniversario de la eBA: el Grupo eBA Stats ha nacido !

eBA Stats Group Marks 10 Years on the Web

Our First Year on the Web...
Ten years ago this evening, on 24 December 1998, 20:00 GMT, I pressed a  really scary big button in an old 386 Computer and the eBA-Stats.com website went online for the first time. This site was   the first site of the actual eBA Stats Group and from a start of hits numbered in the thousands, the site now gets almost 10 million hits a year...

The second birthday...
During 1999, the eBA-stats.com web site, which has been built as a Basketball in general and Statistics in particular labor of love, took its first steps onto the World Wide Web with the aunch of the forums, the clinics and the directories sections. ......

Our third candle...
It's weird and unworldly to imagine the Web when we started this site. Yahoo started about 1994. Google appears just with us. Nobody worried about PageRank back then, but we were quite pleased to be listed from the first days in all the Internet Directories. Netscape 1.0 was released in December 1994, and Internet Explorer first appeared in 1995......

The fourth celebration...
The site boasted a number of online-only features: a basketball store,    a forum where basketball people could post questions and answers and debate about basketball statistics analysis, and a link for readers to comment on case studies and send feedback to the editor.......

During the following years on the Web...
Though our original web page at geocities and xoom ( http://www.geocities.com/allstats/index.html ) - with the "famous" bouncing basketball... - are probably lost to the winds of time, here's a version of our page from the first years... sorry about the design !

Thanks to the Internet Archive and reliving one's formative years, here's what the site looked like in eBA Stats 2002 and eBA Stats 2004 as well ! ......

Four years ago...
