Not all game situations are registered by us  with the same quantity, value, or measure. There are teams that use a plus/minus system that is weighted by both time of the game and how close the game is in score.

The eBA Basketball Statistics Analysis System doesn't register in ANY CASE  two possessions in the same play.

eBA Basketball Statistical Tracking=
If the NBA Team A wins the jump ball we have without change one possession because the shot clock doesn't set to 24 and the officials retain the possession.
On the contrary, if Team B wins the jump ball is registered as a lost ball turnover against A1 and a steal from B2.

Algunos elementos para resumir el tópico del "Balón Retenido entre Aro y Tablero" (ver abajo en hoja 2):
Cuando el balón queda retenido entre el aro y el tablero la regla apropiada es la de una situación de salto entre dos -"Jump Ball"-

NBA & FIBA= Situación de Salto en el círculo más cercano entre cualquiera de dos jugadores oponentes.
NCAA & High School U.S.= Penalización de Salto que se llevará a una situación de posesión alternada.

Registro eBA de las Estadísticas del Baloncesto=
Situación de Salto: Si la posesión continúa a favor del mismo equipo que la tenía, el juego continúa sin registro alguno. Si la posesión pasa al otro equipo se registrará un recupero y una pérdida de balón de equipo en Jump Ball para los respectivos equipos.

Situación de Posesión Alternada: Si la flecha apunta al equipo en defensa, registramos un lanzamiento errado para el jugador lanzador y un rebote de equipo para el equipo en defensa. Si la flecha apunta en favor del equipo en ataque, el juego continúa sin ninguna referencia estadística alguna.

Pelota retenida al final de período= Cuando el tiempo de un cuarto expira, un jugador intenta un lanzamiento a gol. El tiempo termina y el timbre suena mientras el lanzamiento está en el aire. El balón queda retenido entre el aro y el tablero.

La Regla 5 establece claramente que un período finaliza cuando suena la chicharra indicando que el tiempo ha expirado, con excepción de cuando el balón está en vuelo durante un intento de lanzamiento. Ball Lodged at end of period= As time is running out in the quarter, a shooter attempts a try for a field goal. Time expires and the horn sounds while the shot is in the air. The ball lodges between the rim and the backboard.

Rule 5 clearly states that a period ends when the horn sounds indicating that time has expired, except if a ball is in flight during a try or a tap. The period ended when the try was unsuccessful or when the ball lodged between the ring and the backboard. The kicker in this situation is that no penalty or part of a penalty may be carried over to another period, or extra period. So you just start the next period with the alternating possession procedure, or if it's and extra period, a jump ball. NFHS 5-6-1, 5-6-3
