Both feet off of the floor ? Last season this case was officiated well and consistently; consequently, it removed existing confusion as to what was legal. This year there appears to be an inconsistent understanding of Rule 4-65.3 and as a consequence, the rule is not being officiated correctly. As a reminder, when a dribbling player initiates a jump, ends his dribble with both feet off the floor and lands simultaneously on two feet (jump stop), he is permitted to establish a pivot foot.

When there is doubt as to how many feet were off the floor when the dribble ended, the official shall assume that the dribble ended with both feet off the floor (which is most often the case); consequently, the player, after executing the jump stop, is allowed to establish a pivot foot. When the official does not allow the player to pivot after a jump stop, he shall be absolutely sure that player ended his dribble with only one foot off the floor.

Puede tener ambos pies fuera del piso ? En la última temporada este caso fue bien arbitrado y en forma muy consistente; consecuentemente, solucionó la confusión existente sobre que era lo legal. Cuando hay dudas referente a cuántos pies estaban fuera del piso cuando el drible terminó, el juez deberá asumir que el drible terminó con ambos pies fuera del piso (lo cual es el caso más a menudo); consecuentemente, luego de ejecutar la parada, le es permitido establecer un pie pivote. Cuando el juez no le permite al jugador pivotear después de la parada, el debe estar absolutamente seguro de que el jugador finalizó el drible con un solo pie sobre el piso (parada en dos tiempos).

Hay un par de doble significados en la situación planteada en la primera posta y que se aplican a todo el hilo: el primero depende de si el jugador ha iniciado o no el drible. La acción descripta, si éste es su primer movimiento con el balón podría no ser un doble drible. La razón de esta afirmación es que un drible es realizado por "un jugador en control del balón, quien lanza o palmotea el balón en el aire hacia el piso". En ningún momento de la acción descripta el jugador "lanza o palmotea el balón en el aire hacia el piso". Como resultante de ello es que nunca tuvo su primer drible, por tanto un segundo podría ser imposible.

En el caso descripto arriba el jugador podría aún estar violando las reglas, y esa violación sería la de "'Caminar'".  Este sería el segundo significado que proviene de la aplicación de la regla del doble drible, que sería si la acción descripta fuera realizada con solo una mano.

Aún en el caso en que el jugador obtiene un pase de otro jugador o recoge un   rebote, se inclina hacia el piso, pone el balón sobre el piso con ambas manos aún sobre el balón, entonces se para y se inclina nuevamente sobre el piso con ambas manos aún sobre el balón, a efectos de proteger el balón de su oponente: no existe doble drible pues el balón nunca abandonó las manos de jugador. No se puede penar doble drible mientras no finalice una serie de dribles.

Fundamento de la Regla:
Si un jugador lanza deliberadamente el balón contra el tablero ( sin intentar un lanzamiento legal a canasta ), esto es considerado como si el jugador hubiera botado el balón contra el piso. Si el jugador toca el balón nuevamente antes de que éste haya tocado a ( o sea tocado por )  otro jugador, esto es considerado lo mismo que un drible.

Interpretación de la Regla:
El jugador ha cometido una violación por haber realizado un nuevo drible.

Rule Fundamental:
If a player deliberately throws the ball against a backboard ( not attempting a legitimate shot for a goal ), this is considered the same as if that player has bounced the ball on the floor. If the player then touches the ball again before it has touched ( or been touched by ) another player, this is considered to be the same as a dribble.

Rule Interpretation:
The player has committed a violation for making a new dribble.

Luego de finalizar su drible, y sea en la continuidad de su movimiento o estando aún parado, el jugador lanza ahora el balón contra el tablero y lo toma nuevamente sin que éste haya sido tocado por otro jugador.

Me interesa el registro estadístico de esta jugada, si se tratase de una 'pérdida de balón': forzada o no forzada ?

Conforme a las reglas un movimiento de drible es definido como:
"un movimiento del balón, causado por un un jugador en control, quien lanza o palmea el balón en el aire o hacia el piso."

Esas mismas reglas nos dan 7 formas de finalizar un drible, una de las maneras es cuando el jugador toca el balón con ambas manos simultáneamente.
